Givin' it Laldie

Around this time last year many of us took part in the Friday afternoon singing sessions that we ran as part of our exercise to “test the waters” for the congregation’s music project “Givin’ it Laldie”. Since then a small team in the congregation has been very busy writing to funders looking for money to develop the project into something more substantial and in January we were thrilled to reach our target for our funding for our first year. Since then the team have been busy again writing job advertisements and as was announced in church a few weeks ago we have now recruited a community musician to take the project forward. The successful candidate, in what was a very well subscribed recruitment process, was Shelly Coyne, who was working at the Sage Centre in Gateshead. Shelly started in Gorbals at the beginning of May and since then she has been very busy working in the community.
