Welcome

New VenueWelcome to the Gorbals Parish Church website. We hope you enjoy your visit.

We are the Church of Scotland congregation in Gorbals, in the Southside of Glasgow.

We subscribe to a progressive theology and our aim as a congregation is to provide:

• A warm welcome to all who join us
• An inclusive, open and affirming ministry
• A strong concern for social issues and a bias       towards the poor in society
• A concern for environmental issues
• A desire to work positively  with other churches and faith communities
• A commitment to quality in worship, both in preaching and music
• A place of inspiration and restoration

Sunday Services

We are currently building a new church in the New Gorbals regeneration area so at the moment we are meeting at 11 o’clock on Sunday mornings in the Skills Academy in Norfolk Street (formerly St John’s school).

We have a crèche for younger children which meets during the service in a separate room. Crèche volunteers (two at all times) are trained in safeguarding procedures.

Older children join in the early part of the service and then may leave to pursue activities appropriate to their age group with trained volunteers.

Historical Records

From time to time people make contact with us to ask about old records, usually in connection with family research. We have no records prior to 1974! We therefore redirect people to the Mitchell Library and Register House. Sorry.
